Write to Work is a free 12-week writing development programme delivered online, which develops your writing skills, builds confidence and helps you take the next steps into further education or employment.
Have you ever
wondered how to write for social media or create a successful blog? What about
writing for radio or becoming a freelance copy writer? Write to Work is not
just your regular writing course, it gives learners the chance to explore a
host of writing practises and learn first-hand from successful writers doing
those jobs.
Previous participants of Write to Work have gone on to be published in Guardian, Double Negative and Speaking volumes. One participant was published in a spoken word video by Liverpool based Thinking Film, which was shared with award-winning international LGBTQI+ news outlet PinkNews, amassing over 42,000 views across social media platforms. Another has found success as a freelancer theatre maker and creative writing group facilitator, contributing to projects with the Everyman Theatre and The Lantern Company. The success of this course can also be measured in the confidence participants have gained. We have included some feedback from our participants below:
‘I could not be more grateful. The Write To Work course was absolutely transformative for me. The course has dramatically improved my confidence. I feel much more able to write with influence and with economy.’
‘Great course. I joined to gain confidence and, subsequently, got it in droves, on this course. I now have a voice that was silenced before. Thank you WoW.’
Applications are open until Monday 24th August 12pm.
Eligibility: To apply you must be unemployed, be eligible to work and live in the UK, be 18 years or older, living in the Liverpool city region (including the areas of Wirral classed as Merseyside), and as the course is taught online through zoom, you will need access to the internet.

Write to Work is in partnership with Directions LCR and part
funded by ESF. The key outcomes of Directions will be to raise aspirations, skill
development and awareness of pathways into employment opportunities to inevitably
raise the economic position of those involved and in turn enhance the wellbeing
of the individuals and those around them. Through empowering the
individual, we will enable communities to flourish.
Writing on the Wall (WoW) is a dynamic, Liverpool-based
organisation which celebrates writing in all its forms through year-round
